This is actually Alan Sparhawk playing solo the closing track from Low’s forthcoming album ‘C’mon’. On the album this is one of the most polished tracks they’ve recorded, here it’s rougher but maintains much of the magic, despite the absence of Mimi Parker’s sweetening harmonies.
Let’s Buy Happiness ‘Six Wolves’ (acoustic)
Seems like every fucker and his wife have their own branded exclusive music video content these days. This one is from The Fly and Russian Standard Vodka and features a band that had passed me by until…about 20 minutes ago. They’re called Let’s Buy Happiness, from Newcastle (Upon-Tyne, not NSW or Under Lyme) and this is a live acoustic version of their debut single from September last year. If you grew up listening to mid/late 80s indie pop you’ll probably love this as much as I do. If you use the forward button on the player there’s a second equally charming song too.
